PPI

There are a lot of people who doubt the practice of ppi companies. In fact, doubt is a relatively weak word to use in describing the feelings of people who have had their claims rejected arbitrarily and were left in the dark after paying ridiculously high insurance premiums. If someone was to describe their real sentiments, these companies might be stripped off their dignities and live a life of shame because of the seething hate that a lot of consumers feel right now. But, who could blame the victims? If you have invested a huge amount of money forĀ  the promise that you and your property will be protected from a freaded event, and the insurance company fails to deliver that promise, wouldn’t you feel the same?

The thing is that ppi is relatively more complex than other insurance policies. Compared to other insurance types that directly take care of properties and other insured things, payment protection insurance seeks to protect the capacity of a person to pay an outstanding loan, debt, mortgage, or credit purchases. Sounds confusing, right? Well, to give you a background, imagine yourself trying to apply for a loan. Obviously, it will require a huge amount of money, right? Well, one of the basic standards to get that loan approved is being able to prove that you have the source of income to pay it, in the future. This is the reason why employment records, income tax return sheets, and certificate of employment are necessary requirements to process your application. These things are important to prove that you have a stable job which will aid you in making your payment schemes. But, given the volatile nature of the economy today, a lot of lay-offs are happening which may happen to you. Alternatively, accidents and sicknesses can make you involuntary quit your work. If you find yourself in any of these conditions, it is safe to say that paying your obligations will be next to impossible.

This is what makes payment protection insurance ultimately relevant, because it seeks to protect the insured from not being able to pay the debt. If you think that this does not make ppi special and crucial in any way, think about this: if you apply for a loan and after verifying your records, the financial institution would require some sort of security from you, just in case you fail to keep up with your payment. This may be in the form of real and personal property like your house or car, which they will foreclose and claim ownership of after repeatedly failing to pay for your mortgage. When faced with this situation, then, it is not just your credit history that is at stake. The bigger picture is that you might lose a house where you and your family live in, or any other property that may hold an emotionally resonant space in your life.

A lot of people have been put in this very compromising situation, which is the reason why they have cried foul at the false promises that payment protection insurance companies have failed to deliver. The bad thing about this is that a lot of these people are from the lower to middle class economic brackets which are always the first to go when an economic turndown happens. So, think about purchasing insurance policies the next time someone attempts to sell you one. Remember, the reputation of the industry in general and ppi companies in particular, have made a lot of people poorer than what they were in the past.
